This article will guide you on how to disable an answer field in Google Forms. You cannot disable an answer field of a question directly in your Google Form. But you can do this by using the Pretty Forms Designer Add-on.

Prerequisite: Install & Setup Pretty Forms Designer Addon on your Google form, if not already done. Then open the Pretty Form Designer.

Note: Disabling an answer item should be used with the option by providing the default answer value to the answer field that would be disabled or in the pre-filled form link.

Note: The question / answer field must be a non-required that needs to be disabled.

Please follow the below steps to Disable an Answer Field in Google Forms:

1. Step 1: Select a question or answer field that you need to disable. Then click on the “Options” icon button for the selected question.

2. Step 2: Click on the “Disable Answer Field” to hide that question.

3. Step 3: You can see the selected answer field is now disabled in the form designer. Save your form & check the preview, you will see the answer field is disabled in the form. By using the above steps you can perform “Enable Answer Field” on the same answer field.
